Oh what a feeling!

I will be ringing in the New Year well rested! I am so excited. Today is Wednesday, and I have the next 4 days off! I have been so lazy during my semester break. Work less, sleep more! You can have my hours, I don't want them. Though, I haven't been going to bed until the wee hours of the morning. That's another story, another time. I can't believe it will be 2006! I know, we say that EVERY year. But as I get older, the more I realize how much time has passed. Makes sense, duh! I will be turning 27 in the year 2006. Speaking of what I will be doing next year, now seems like a good time to ponder my hopes and thoughts for the coming year.

I hope to pass Organic Chemistry II this second time around.
I will be celebrating my 5 year wedding anniversay with my dear husband.
I hope that two lines will appear on the stick.
I hope that my parents stay healthy. No matter how old I get, I still need my parents.
I hope my brothers have a better year and life cuts them a break.
I hope my sister sees two lines on the stick.
I hope to get "the letter" from UT accepting me to pharmacy school and if not, I hope to have the courage to keep trying.
I hope my friends and family stay safe.
I hope all the preggos I know birth healthy, beautiful babies.
I hope to somehow learn not to worry so much about EVERYTHING! I swear I am surprised I haven't worried myself an ulcer.
I hope to repaint my horribly pink master bath. What were the people thinking who lived here before?!
I hope to stay safe, healthy, and happy!

I've never been one for New Year's resolutions. I have no self-control when it comes to certain things. I will probably never stop popping my knuckles and will continue to load up my baked potato with butter and cheese! We all have our faults. As if those are my only faults. I could go on for days. But for now, I will just end with wishing a Happy New Year!

The Joys of Christmas

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I had a lot of fun. I have been anxious to share this story.
My niece and nephew, 6 and 5, of course are big believers in Santa. Dave and I got to play Mr. and Mrs. Santa! We had so much fun sneaking over to my mom's house at midnight Christmas Eve to load up their stockings and leave their presents from Santa under the tree. It was all planned perfectly. My mom put them to bed and stayed with them to make sure they did not get up to peak. Then we quietly sneaked over there, ate some cookies, drank the chocolate milk, and got rid of some celery sticks left out for the reindeer. As we were leaving, I rang "sleigh bells" outside their bedroom window. It was so cool! I can't wait to have my own children to do that for!
The next morning, they were so excited to tell us about the bump they heard and the sleigh bells outside. What could be better than that!

Product Review

I can't help but get excited about the things that I love, so since I can't share my husband, I will share some of my FAVORITE products.

1. Olay Quench Body Lotion: This stuff is amazing! It smells so good, keeps your skin hydrated, and has some sparkle to it to catch the sun in the summertime.
2. Olay In-Shower Lotion: OMG! Just as amazing as #1 with an incredible scent!
3. Wallflowers: From Bath and Body Works. These are room/air fresheners similar to oil plug-ins but in your favorite "flavor" of lotion or candles. These also make great gifts!
4. Caress soap: "Before you dress, Caress". Good ol' orginal Caress. I don't recommend the others. They don't seem moisturize or lather as well.
5. Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Nip/Tuck, Reunion, ER, and Big Brother (when it airs): If you haven't watched any of these yet, you are such a loser! J/K
6. Sweetarts!: Who doesn't love Sweetarts?!
7. Twizzlers: Only the strawberry flavor. I can sit and eat a whole pound bag if you would let me!
8. Lonestar: They're Texas Ribeye is to die for!!
9. Dr. Pepper: I would absolutely die without him.

Okay, so it appears that I only eat and bathe. Hey, sounds like a good life. While I bathe, I like to read. I am reading an awesome book right now called "Body Double" by Tess Gerritsen. If you like murder mysteries, this is a must read. A little spooky if you are home alone though. Another good psychological thriller is "False Memories" by Dean Koontz.

Enough of the meaningless rambling.
I want to wish everyone a Very, Merry Christmas!!!!

Been awhile....

Okay, here goes! With words of encouragement, my blogging now commences. I feel like I have just joined some secret club. I think I could get used to this. Give me some time and I will have some crazy pharmacy stories to tell. One in particular is from my mom, who is a pharmacist. Now, this conversation really took place.
Pt: My prescription said to take it with food. Is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich food?
Mom: Well, I hope so or else I have starved my kids all their life
.

Come on, really?!
I could go on forever with stories. But world, please do NOT call the pharmacy when your kid is choking on a piece of steak!!! Seriously, this parent wanted something to "dissolve" the piece of steak. Note: when asked can the child drink anything or breath, mom replies "just a little bit of water".
Here's another: "I think I accidentally gave my 8 year old child an Ambien." Dumbass!!! How do you "accidentally" give you child your own medication? Hey, now's the time to get in that freaky sex with your husband cuz your child is going to be passed out!
I love my job, I really do. But jeez, people are so dumb sometimes!!
I deal with insurance everyday. Insurance really is a great thing. But folks, when asked "have you changed insurance because what we have on file is rejecting the claim?" Response: "No, I have insurance! Oh, wait. I did get a new card in the mail. Do I need that?" YESSSS!!!!
One more.....Me: "Have you ever had any prescriptions filled at ___________(my place of employment)?
Pt: "Well, I'm not sure. I have had them filled at Kroger, Target, etc."
I want to scream..."This isn't Kroger, Target, etc!!!!!!" Really, I have to laugh every time. Yes, it has happened more than once.
Okay, so I didn't need much time to think of stories.

Words of wisdom for today: Don't be dumb!
